Twitter updates its paid partnership policy

As the influencer marketing industry continues to dominate all social platforms, Twitter is aiming to improve brand collaboration transparency by enforcing new paid partnership policies. Brands, creators and agencies are now required to disclose their paid partnership by including the #ad in every paid Tweet.

This applies to any Tweet that is part of a brand ambassador arrangement, offers the user any form of compensation (i.e. money, gifts, rewards, etc.) and any Tweet that includes a link or discount code through which the user might receive an incentive or reward. Twitter has reported that failure to comply with these updated regulations may result in enforcement action by Twitter and regulatory bodies.
